Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 125 fear God, then, and obey me. 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 You construct monuments on every hill in vain, 128 And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally? 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants! 130 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 131 "Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know. 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 And gardens and watersprings. 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They said, 'Alike it is to us, whether thou admonishest, or art not one of the admonishers; 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 We are not going to be damned." 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 And verily thy Lord? He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
