The tribe of Thamud rejected the Messengers. 141 when their brother Salih said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 142 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 143 Have fear of God and obey me. 144 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 145 Will ye be left secure in that which is here before us, 146 In gardens and watersprings. 147 The fields of corn and date-palm trees with soft and tender spathes, 148 "And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill. 149 So fear Allah and obey me. 150 Do not obey the order of the wasteful, 151 Who spread corruption in the earth, and reform not. 152 They said: thou art but one of the bewitched; 153 You are a mere mortal like us. Show us a miracle if you are telling the Truth". 154 He said: This is a she-camel; she shall have her portion of water, and you have your portion of water on an appointed time; 155 and do not touch her with malice so that there seize you the chastisement of a dreadful day.' 156 But they hamstrung her and so became regretful. 157 and the chastisement seized them. Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 158 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
