The Thamud accused the messengers of lies. 141 Recall when their brother Salih said to them: "Have you no fear?" 142 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 143 So fear Allah and obey me. 144 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 145 (Do you think) you will be left secure here 146 In gardens and watersprings. 147 and cornfields and date-palms laden with juicy fruits? 148 "And you carve houses out of mountains with great skill. 149 So fear Allah, and obey me. 150 And obey not the command of the prodigal, 151 and spread mischief in the land rather than set things right." 152 They said: You are only of the deluded ones; 153 Thou art but a human being like unto us. So bring thou a sign if thou art of the truth-tellers. 154 He said, "This is a she-camel. She will have her share of water as you have your share, each on a certain day. 155 Do not treat her unkindly or the punishment of a grievous day will fall on you." 156 But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets. 157 and the chastisement seized them. Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 158 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
