Thamud (people) belied the Messenger. 141 when their brother Salih said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 142 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 143 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 144 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 145 "Do you think that you will remain here peacefully forever 146 In gardens and fountains, 147 And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit? 148 Though ye hew out dwellings in the mountain, being skilful? 149 So fear Allah and obey me. 150 And do not obey the bidding of the extravagant, 151 “Those who spread turmoil in the earth, and do no reform.” 152 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 153 “You are just a human like us; therefore bring some sign if you are truthful.” 154 He said, 'This is a she-camel; to her a draught and to you a draught, on a day appointed, 155 "Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you." 156 But they killed her, and then they became regretful. 157 So the chastisement seized them. Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 158 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 159
