Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
