The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
