The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
