The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
