[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
