[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
