The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
