The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
