The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
