The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
