The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
