The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
