The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
