The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
