The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
