The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
