The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
