The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
