The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
