The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
