Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
