The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
