The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
