Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
