The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
