The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
