The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
