Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
