The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
