The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
