Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
