The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
