The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
