The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
