Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
