Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
