The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
