The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
