The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
