[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
