Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
