The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
