The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
