The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
