The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
