The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 “And fear Him Who created you and the earlier creations.” 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
